Emory creates endowed professorship to honor scientist behind key tool in fighting COVID-19
Emory University has created an endowed distinguished professorship honoring George Painter for his life-saving work in developing critical medicines including molnupiravir, which is now approved globally for the treatment of SARS-CoV-2.

Atlanta Children’s Film Festival brings virtual screenings and educational fun to Emory
Returning as a hybrid event July 7-23, the virtual and in-person festival introduces youth to film and television careers through workshops in acting, filmmaking and more. Emory will host several events on July 23.

Todd Golde named Emory’s newest GRA scholar, joins Goizueta Institute @ Emory Brain Health
Todd E. Golde will serve as director of the Emory Center for Neurodegenerative Disease in the Goizueta Institute @ Emory Brain Health. He will also be appointed a Georgia Research Alliance Eminent Scholar in Neuroscience.

Sixteen Emory students and recent alumni have been selected as Fulbright recipients for 2022-2023. Emory has been a top-producing Fulbright research institution for six consecutive years.

Chemists crack complete quantum nature of water
Emory chemists led by Joel Bowman, professor of theoretical chemistry, have produced the first full quantum mechanical model of water. The breakthrough yields an open-source, universal tool for studying properties of water.
