AI.HUMANITY: PART 2
Emory's new vision for AI
The new AI.Humanity initiative aims to make a foundational shift in how we integrate artificial intelligence into all university disciplines. Led by Provost Ravi V. Bellamkonda, the initiative's goal is to position Emory as a thought leader in this increasingly omnipresent field and, as the name indicates, put the humanity in machine learning and AI.

Emory participating in trial to test mRNA HIV vaccine in humans
The Hope Clinic of the Emory Vaccine Center is participating in a clinical trial to evaluate the use of mRNA technology in HIV vaccines for the first time in humans.

 

ACHIEVEMENT
Emory College student awarded NOAA Hollings Scholarship
Nick Chang, an environmental sciences major known on campus as Salamander Guy, is the first Emory student since 2007 to win a NOAA scholarship that recognizes exceptional undergraduates in a broad range of STEM fields.

Hear a panel discussion on the documentary "Power to Heal" and conversation about the historic struggle to secure equal and adequate access to health care for all Americans. The program will be hosted by Sheryl Heron and moderated by Nate Spell and Nancy DeSousa. Panelists include Nanette Wenger, Joanne McGriff, Yolanda Wimberly, Ildemaro Gonzalez, Jasmine Clark and Jasmin Eatman. Juneteenth celebration with Artist Charmaine Minniefield
Celebrate Juneteeth with Atlanta artist Charmaine Minniefield, whose recent work is featured in the exhibition “Indigo Prayers: A Creation Story.” The evening begins with a gallery talk in the exhibition at the Carlos Museum. Afterward, participants will board a private coach and travel to the King Historic District for an exploration of the artist's mural, "Cosmic Cypher, Prayer Circle," a panoramic depiction of the Ring Shout painted on the interior of the historic water tower on Auburn Avenue, and a reception and tour of Minniefield's Studioplex studio. (Note that the water tower at Studioplex is not accessible for those with mobility impairments.)
