New $52 million antiviral drug discovery center established by researchers at Emory and Georgia State
With $52 million in federal funding for the next three years, researchers at Emory and Georgia State will establish a groundbreaking new drug development center aimed at preventing the next pandemic.

Commemorating HIV Vaccine Awareness Day
May 18 was HIV Vaccine Awareness Day, an opportunity to educate communities about the importance of preventative HIV vaccine research. Researchers at the Emory Vaccine Center continue to be at the forefront of HIV vaccine development.

 

TRADITION
Seniors honored with awards during Class Day Crossover
The Class of 2022 celebrated Class Day Crossover with a reception, remarks from former NASA astronaut and retired U.S. Navy Capt. Scott Kelly, and the presentation of several awards. Faculty, staff and alumni were on hand to cheer them toward their next step.

A team of nurses, infection preventionists and other specialists at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital found that multidisciplinary teamwork is key for health care facilities to reduce a common hospital-onset bacterial infection.

New interfaith pre-orientation program sparks WISE connections among incoming students
Through a week spent visiting sacred sites on campus and in Atlanta, participants in the Welcoming Interfaith and Spiritual Exploration program made friends who stayed close throughout the academic year. Registration for the next cohort is now open.

ATHLETICS
Oxford men's tennis claims national title
The Emory Oxford men's tennis team secured their sixth straight NJCAA national title in dominating fashion. This year's tournament was hosted on Oxford's campus for the first time and featured five teams competing for the trophy.
