RECOGNITION Emory historian Deborah Lipstadt confirmed as U.S. special envoy to monitor and combat antisemitism Deborah E. Lipstadt, professor of modern Jewish history and Holocaust studies, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, a State Department position with the rank of ambassador. PERSPECTIVE Women’s History Month keynote Haben Girma is on a mission to dismantle ableism As a disability rights advocate and the first Deafblind woman to graduate from Harvard Law School, Haben Girma shared valuable perspectives during Emory’s annual Women’s History Month keynote address. RESEARCH Monarch butterflies increasingly plagued by parasites, study shows New analysis shows that monarch butterflies, one of the most iconic insects of North America, are increasingly plagued by a debilitating parasite. The Journal of Animal Ecology published the findings, led by Emory scientists.

FEATURED EVENTS   2022 Emory Pride Awards Join the annual ceremony honoring individuals and groups within Emory for their exceptional contributions to the LGBTQ community. The evening will showcase this great work, celebrate the steps toward LGBTQ equality and highlight graduating LGBTQ students.
