TECHNOLOGY Emory students advance artificial intelligence with a bot that aims to serve humanity A team of six Emory computer science students have developed a chatbot capable of making logical inferences that aims to hold deeper, more nuanced conversations with humans than have previously been possible. Christened "Emora," the chatbot has been designed to help first-year college students navigate a new way of life. ATHLETICS ‘Never give up’: In third Paralympics, Emory, Ga. HEALTH NEWS   SUPPORT NIH awards Emory and partners $27.6M for pediatric HIV cure research Emory and the Yerkes National Primate Research Center will share with the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in a five-year, $27.6 million award from the National Institutes of Health to accelerate the search for a cure for HIV in children and adolescents. HEALTH CARE Emory Healthcare joins nationwide effort to address critical shortages of operating room nurses Emory Healthcare is joining forces with Chamberlain University and the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses to address the critical shortages of operating room nurses, as part of a national education and workforce solutions initiative. STAFF Emory Healthcare names first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer Emory Healthcare has named Ildemaro González as its first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer. He will assume the role on Sept. 13.
