With COVID-19 infections on the rise, fueled by the Delta variant and low vaccination rates, Emory Healthcare will require COVID-19 vaccinations for its health care providers and employees, with an expectation for all to receive their vaccinations by Oct. 1.

Decatur Book Festival becomes one-day October event, features Emory authors
Presented by Emory, the AJC Decatur Book Festival is permanently moving from its traditional Labor Day slot to the first weekend in October. Emory faculty authors Carol Anderson and Tiphanie Yanique will be showcased in the festival.

Gift honoring Don Harp to establish chair in biblical studies at Candler
Candler School of Theology has received a $3 million gift from The O. Wayne Rollins Foundation to establish an endowed chair in biblical studies honoring the late Don Harp, Candler alumnus and former pastor/theologian-in-residence at the school.

SCIENCE
EPA funds project to measure environmental contaminants, exposures in West Atlanta
Emory researchers will receive $1.35 million from the Environmental Protection Agency to work with the West Atlanta community to better understand the potential risks for children being exposed to lead and other environmental contaminants.
