ACCOMPLISHMENT Emory's Class of 2025 Emory celebrates the stellar admitted Class of 2025, drawn from the largest and most diverse applicant pool in the university's history. COMMITMENT Emory to welcome all students back to campus for fall 2021 President Gregory L. Fenves announces that the entire Emory community — students, faculty and staff — will return to in-person learning, teaching, research and work for the fall 2021 semester. PERSPECTIVE James Weldon Johnson Distinguished Lecture to feature historian Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham Award-winning scholar Evelyn Brooks Higginbotham will deliver the 2021 James Weldon Johnson Distinguished Lecture on Thursday, April 1. She will speak on “History in the Face of Slavery: A Family Portrait.” GLOBAL COVID-19 experiment finds promising government strategies for community engagement Consistent government engagement with community leaders builds trust that’s essential during crises, finds one of the first social science experiments in relation to conflict areas of a developing country during COVID-19. HEALTH CARE Emory Johns Creek Hospital earns Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center Designation The Georgia Department of Public Health has awarded Emory Johns Creek Hospital Level II Emergency Cardiac Care Center designation in recognition of its commitment to excellence in emergency cardiac care.

COVID-19 VACCINE UPDATE   Emory vaccine registration is NOW OPEN: Today Georgia opened up vaccine eligibility to everyone over age 16. Please visit Emory Forward for more information on how Emory faculty, staff and students can register online for vaccination through Emory Healthcare. Appointments are available to the campus community across multiple locations, including an extended session this Saturday at the Emory Northlake Mall Vaccine Clinic. Vaccine appointments become available on a rolling basis, so continue monitoring availability as slots may open at additional Emory Healthcare locations or at different times.
