Early results show COVID-19 vaccine is safe, generates immune response
An investigational vaccine designed to protect against COVID-19 was generally well tolerated and resulted in production of both binding and neutralizing antibodies in healthy adult volunteers, according to early results of an ongoing phase 1 trial. Emory was one of two U.S. sites where the vaccine was tested.

Beautyberry leaf extract restores drug's power to fight 'superbug'
Emory scientist Cassandra Quave, along with students and staff in her lab, discovered a compound in the leaves of a common shrub, the American beautyberry, that boosts an antibiotic’s activity against antibiotic-resistant staph bacteria.

Admission team works to ‘get the Emory spirit into the virtual world’
Through "virtual visits," videos, social media and other online experiences, staff in Emory's Office of Undergraduate Admission built a strong foundation for engaging with prospective students and their families during the pandemic and beyond.
