INVOLVEMENT Lend a hand on Emory Cares International Day of Service Students, alumni, faculty and staff come together on Saturday, Nov. 9, to serve communities in Atlanta and around the world during the annual Emory Cares International Day of Service. Learn how you can join in. ACTIVITIES 10 things to do for free this month November brings multiple workshops and sporting events, plus the chance to hear award-winning poets such as Claudia Rankine and Emory's own Jericho Brown. Check out ten activities you can participate in for free. SUSTAINABILITY Go green for Emory's annual recycling competition Simple efforts to recycle can lead to significant impact. Step up your game during November, when campus buildings go head-to-head to see who diverts the most waste from landfills into recycling. HEALTH Emory to establish research center on dementia caregiving The National Institute on Aging has awarded a five-year, $3.66 million grant to the School of Nursing to explore ways to strengthen caregiver support so individuals can live in their communities as long as possible. PLANNING Pay attention to these checkpoints during annual benefits enrollment Emory's benefits enrollment is now open, giving faculty and staff the opportunity to review benefits and make changes for the upcoming year. Submit your options by Monday, Nov. 11. COMMUNITY Emory partners with Latin American Association to inspire students to pursue higher education Mario Becerra Alemán first visited Emory as a sixth grader attending the Latino Youth Leadership Conference. Now he's a sophomore on campus, helping plan the same experience for future students.
