Oxford College students study art and social justice in New York City
After a summer trip to New York to study "From Street Art to the Gallery," students plan to create their own art project on Emory's Oxford College campus.

Yolanda Cooper has been promoted to dean and university librarian for Emory University, effective July 1. She will continue to lead Emory Libraries in facilitating the research and learning of faculty, students and staff.

The Sensitivity Conjecture has stood as one of the most important open problems in theoretical computer science for nearly three decades. It appears to have finally met its match through work by Emory mathematician Hao Huang.

 

RESEARCH
$21.9 million gene modulation research effort targets influenza pandemics
Research aimed at temporarily modulating gene expression could help protect against pandemic flu by boosting lung resistance to infection, attacking the influenza virus directly, enhancing immune system response and improving the effects of existing vaccines.

 

SUSTAINABILITY
Student move-out donations divert 87 tons of waste for a good cause
Thousands of Atlanta and Oxford student-residents took advantage of the "Don't Dump It, Donate It" campaign by contributing items to recycle, donate or compost when they left campus for the summer.
