CLASS OF 2019: EMORY COLLEGE About to publish her first book, Emory College graduate creates understanding through stories An interdisciplinary scholar with a double major in English/creative writing and psychology/linguistics, Namrata Verghese explores the power of narrative through her own writing and the memoirs of others. CLASS OF 2019: LANEY GRADUATE SCHOOL Doctoral student brings science to mass audiences A neuroscientist working on artificial intelligence, PhD student Anzar Abbas excels in both research and communicating science to general audiences. CLASS OF 2019: OXFORD COLLEGE Oxford student excels in classroom and community service Lauded for leadership and organizing service projects, Oxford College student Kiarra Harris wants to help others through a career in nursing. CLASS OF 2019: BUSINESS Swim team captain personifies business school's core values Business major and NCAA All-American swimmer Ashley Daniels leaves a lasting impact on Emory as author of Goizueta Business School's BBA Student Creed, an inspiring statement of values and commitment. CLASS OF 2019: THEOLOGY Impacted by gun violence, divinity student examines identity and death The first in his immediate family to go to college, Donnell Williamson Jr. felt called to divinity school after losing loved ones to gun violence. At Candler, he found meaning in class, across an ocean and within himself. CLASS OF 2019: NURSING Nursing student feels calling to help those in need Tai Ingram, the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing's Anne MacGregor Jenkins Scholar, knew nursing was her calling when she helped care for a close family member during her terminal illness. CLASS OF 2019: LAW Law student parlays difficult beginnings into success in Army and academics Earl Porter III overcame growing up in a troubled home to earn an ROTC scholarship and serve as an Army infantry officer, then set his sights on a law career to be more present for his family. CLASS OF 2019: PUBLIC HEALTH Public health graduate aims to address health disparities The daughter of Ethiopian immigrants, Rosa Abraha plans to use her MPH to advocate for health equity for vulnerable populations. Past president of the Rollins SGA, she is Emory's Graduate Student Leader of the Year. CLASS OF 2019: MEDICINE Medical student serves communities close to home and around the world Joey Sharp's years at Emory have included organizing medical clinics for homeless people in Atlanta, studying Tibetan medicine in Dharamsala, India, and working at a hospital in Uganda.

Woodruff Library and the Rose Library for research they conducted either in the Emory Libraries or at another library.
