EVENTS Emory campus traditions celebrate the holiday season Joy to the world! Emory's December calendar includes plenty of holiday-themed festivities, as well as other exciting musical and dance offerings. CAMPUS Sustainability grants fund green projects across Emory From creating fun events to motivate students to take MARTA to piloting reusable metal needles in a chemistry lab, projects funded by the latest grants from Emory's Office of Sustainability Initiatives support conservation and social justice on Emory's campuses. HEALTH Researchers assess frequency of head injury, evaluation in 2018 World Cup To evaluate concussion assessment and management during the 2018 World Cup, physicians at Emory and the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York analyzed video footage of all 64 matches of the tournament, identifying any possible concussion events. INSIGHT New book explores how the Western won its way into modern law In "Gunslinging Justice," Justin A. Joyce explores the evolution of America's longest-enduring popular genre and the legal philosophies surrounding self-defense and gun rights. MILESTONE Emory's oldest academic building opens, restored and renewed In a recent ceremony, Oxford College celebrated the completed renovation of Emory's oldest academic building, Phi Gamma Hall. The process gave prime importance to the historic significance of the building while also making it a useful space for contemporary needs.
