ACHIEVEMENT Emory honors staff members with prestigious Award of Distinction Meet the 12 employees selected as this year's winners of the Emory University Award of Distinction. Since 1985, the annual awards have recognized staff members who make significant contributions to the Emory community. COMMUNITY Global Health Institute launches Refugee and Immigrant Health and Wellness Alliance of Atlanta The Emory Global Health Institute, along with local partners, has established the Refugee and Immigrant Health and Wellness Alliance of Atlanta, which seeks to improve the health and social services available to Atlanta's refugee and immigrant communities. SUPPORT Emory School of Medicine establishes academy to help disadvantaged students, Atlanta community Emory has received a five-year, $3.25 million grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration to establish a National Health Careers Opportunity Program, which will provide educational opportunities for disadvantaged high school students interested in pursuing health careers. COLLABORATION Atlanta Jewish Film Festival partners with Emory for campus screenings The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival On Campus returns Oct. 28-30, bringing cutting-edge international films, documentaries and discussions. The festival features five films selected to relate to Emory College course topics.
