RESOURCES Campus Life Center construction continues on pace As the rising profile of the new CLC takes shape this semester, Emory students will be invited to weigh in on interior design elements. INSIGHT 'Conversations with America' town hall to examine opioid addiction As part of the ongoing "Conversations with America" series, Emory will host a campus discussion Jan. 24 focused on America's opioid crisis. Led by renowned pollster Peter D. Hart, the event will feature experts on addiction and drug trafficking. DISCOVERY Yerkes researchers find clues to AIDS resistance in sooty mangabey genome To learn how sooty mangabeys avoid developing AIDS-like disease while being infected by SIV, a Yerkes-led team has sequenced the sooty mangabey genome. ENTERTAINMENT Emory film experts pick the top 10 films of 2017 With Oscar nominations set to be announced Tuesday, check out this list of the year's best films chosen by Emory's Department of Film and Media Studies, including Jordan Peele's writing and directing debut, "Get Out." INNOVATION Sustainability grants fund green projects across Emory From campus gardens to research labs, projects funded by the latest round of grants from Emory's Office of Sustainability Initiatives (OSI) hope to support pollinators, improve energy use and reduce waste across the university.
