$2 million NSF grant funds physicists' quest for optical transistors
The National Science Foundation awarded Emory physicists Hayk Harutyunyan and Ajit Srivastava a $2 million Emergent Frontiers grant for development of miniaturized optical transistors to take computers and telecommunications into a new era.

Carlos Museum gives students first-hand look at ancient artifacts
Moving beyond the traditional classroom, history professor Cynthia Patterson's students learn about ancient Mediterranean culture by examining museum artifacts and weighing ethical questions about how they are obtained and displayed.

All faculty, staff, students and alumni are invited to Emory's ninth annual Veterans Day Ceremony, set for Nov. 8 at 11 a.m. on the Quadrangle. The tradition begins with a flag ceremony led by Emory veterans and ROTC cadets.
