IMPACT Responding to climate change The health effects of global warming are already being felt. Take an in-depth look at how researchers at Emory's Rollins School of Public Health are addressing climate change on multiple fronts. INSPIRATION Carter offers advice, insight in interview with film students President Jimmy Carter, Emory University Distinguished Professor, offered candid thoughts on media and "loving thy neighbor" for a project created by Emory College students. DISCOVERY Reservoir explorers find extra HIV/SIV pond Yerkes scientists have identified an additional part of the HIV reservoir, immune cells that survive and harbor the virus despite long-term treatment with antiviral drugs. ARTS Emory obtains archives of playwright Douglas Turner Ward Emory's Rose Library is now home to the archives of Douglas Turner Ward, co-founder of the groundbreaking Negro Ensemble Company. Ward speaks on campus tonight to celebrate the ensemble's 50th anniversary. EVENTS Halloween at Emory offers both scary and sweet adventures Whether you're in the mood for a gory "rock 'n' roll nightmare" about Dracula or just want to enjoy "spooky doughnuts" and other treats, Emory's Halloween events have you covered. ACHIEVEMENT Award of Distinction honors Emory University employees for outstanding contributions Meet the 14 employees selected as this year's winners of the Emory University Award of Distinction. Since 1985, the annual awards have recognized staff members who make significant contributions to the Emory community.
