HONORS U.S. News ranks Emory's graduate and professional schools Emory's graduate schools and programs are ranked among the best in the nation, according to U.S. News and World Report's 2018 "America's Best Graduate Schools" guide. The Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing ranked fourth, and Emory's schools of nursing, business, law, medicine and public health are the top-ranked schools in Georgia in their categories. RELIGION Old Testament headed to extinction, Emory theologian warns In "The Old Testament is Dying: A Diagnosis and Recommended Treatment," theology professor Brent Strawn examines the causes and consequences of the Old Testament's decline among Christians and other groups. RESEARCH Winship expert recommends soy to help prevent breast cancer Winship Cancer Institute medical oncologist Omer Kucuk has authored an editorial in the journal Cancer that recommends women consume soy foods to help prevent breast cancer and improve the prognosis of those currently undergoing treatment. SCHOLARSHIP 'Critical Juncture' conference examines role of art in challenging identity Scholars from around the globe who cross traditional boundaries of academic disciplines come to Emory this week for "Critical Juncture 2017: The Work of Art," exploring intersections of race, sexuality, gender and disability. ARTS Renowned filmmaker provides students a lens for storytelling As filmmaker-in-residence at Emory, Nitzan Gilady's goal is to help students "turn their eyes into a camera lens." A series of film screenings featuring his work kicks off Wednesday, March 15. HEALTH 'Know Your Numbers' screenings help Emory employees learn key health statistics More than 7,000 employees of Emory University and Emory Healthcare participated in free onsite screenings, receiving important information about their key biometric numbers: blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, body mass index and body composition.
