Winship hematologist honored as MPN Hero
Elliott Winton, MD, veteran hematologist with Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University, received a 2016 MPN Hero award in recognition of his commitment to researching and caring for patients with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), a group of rare blood cancers.

 

INNOVATION
Pilot program uses physicians in Australia for Atlanta eICU monitoring
Emory's eICU has taken remote medical care international through a pilot program with Macquarie University's MQ Health in Sydney, Australia. Team members in Australia can cover the eICU night shift in Atlanta during what is for them the day shift.

ACHIEVEMENT
Emory nurse receives National Magnet Nurse of the Year Award
Sharon Vanairsdale, program director of the Serious Communicable Diseases Unit at Emory University Hospital and adjunct professor at the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, received the Magnet Nurse of the Year Award for Exemplary Professional Practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
