MILESTONE Last volume of Samuel Beckett's letters celebrated at Emory After almost three decades, Emory's Laney Graduate School and the Letters of Samuel Beckett Project mark the publication of the fourth and final volume in their series bringing the acclaimed writer's correspondence to the world. COLLABORATION Emory Healthcare Network partners with urgent care companies, expands MinuteClinic affiliation Emory Healthcare Network is partnering with two urgent care companies, Peachtree Immediate Care and SmartCare Urgent Care, while expanding its relationship with MinuteClinic, the retail medical clinic of CVS Health, to offer patients more options for their health care needs. RESEARCH Education, outreach increases kidney transplant referrals from dialysis facilities An Emory study shows that an educational and outreach program in Georgia dialysis centers in 2014 resulted in a 75 percent increase in referrals for kidney transplant evaluation, with the greatest increase among black patients. EVENTS Halloween events bring spooky fun to campus Get into the Halloween spirit with Day of the Living DUC, a zombie 5K, pumpkin painting, a cemetery walk, Mummies and Mixers, a haunted house in Harris Hall and more. Events kick off Friday and continue through Oct. 31. IMPACT Intimate Partner Violence Working Group marks decade of campus support October is National Relationship Violence Awareness Month, marked at Emory with a Take Back the Night march and rally Oct. 24. It also offers a chance to reflect on a decade of campus work addressing IPV. PROFILE Wanda Swan: Preventing violence, supporting survivors, building 'Respect' As director of the Respect Program, Wanda Swan oversees Emory's central hub for interpersonal violence prevention and survivor support. She traces her advocacy roots back to her mother -- "the first feminist I'd ever met, though she wouldn't call herself that."
