YOUR HEALTH Starting this week, Emory employees are 'Moving More' again The 2016 Move More Challenge is now underway, with approximately 9,200 employees from Emory University and Emory Healthcare pledging to track their steps with Fitbits and add more physical activity to their daily routine. Learn about special activities and tips to increase your steps. LEADERSHIP Rus Drew to serve as Emory's new police chief Rus Drew has been named Emory's new police chief, effective Nov. 1. Drew comes to Emory from Columbus State University, where he has served as the school's top law enforcement officer for 10 years. SIMULATION Emory leads two-day radiation response exercise at Emory University Hospital and Dobbins Air Reserve Base A two-day, full-scale exercise tested Emory's capability as a Radiation Injury Treatment Network center in coordination with Dobbins Air Reserve Base and 15 other health care and government agencies. RELIGION Candler to ponder 'unfinished worlds' with eminent theologian Jurgen Moltmann Emory's Candler School of Theology will host world-renowned German theologian Jurgen Moltmann for a conference on issues of contemporary theology, the church and the world. "Unfinished Worlds: Jurgen Moltmann at 90" takes place Oct. 19-20. ACHIEVEMENT For African physician, Emory was a launching pad As a Foege Fellow in Global Health at Emory's School of Public Health, physician Landry Dongmo Tsague had the idea for an open source medical journal for African scientists. Ten years later that dream is a reality. PROFILE Mike Bartell: Finding 'Ultimate' success on U.S. National Team Emory sophomore Mike Bartell traveled to Poland over the summer to compete in the World Junior Ultimate Championship, helping the U.S. bring home the gold medal.
