COMMENCEMENT   Celebrating Emory's Class of 2022 Emory’s Commencement returned to the Quad on Monday to celebrate the spirit, resolve and extraordinary accomplishments of the Class of 2022. View comprehensive coverage, including keynote speaker Tyler Perry, video highlights, photo galleries, and profiles of outstanding graduates and award recipients. Undergraduate Brittain Award winner Zhang pushes for social justice on and off campus Stephanie Zhang is on a mission to create a more equitable world. Her commitment to creating a more welcoming campus has earned her the 2022 undergraduate Brittain Award, Emory’s highest student honor. Nguyen, graduate Brittain Award recipient, finds a calling in community From volunteering as an interpreter to mentoring first-generation students and speaking out on others’ behalf, this year’s graduate Brittain Award recipient My Nguyen drives positive change in everything she does. Wagner’s creative and distinguished storytelling honored with McMullan Award Senior Ozzy Wagner has taken a lifetime of writing and developed into a groundbreaking playwright with an eye for inclusive and diverse theater. As Emory College class orator, Konan directs the spotlight to everyday supporters Heather-Destiny Konan, the 2022 Emory College class orator, found success through community while at Emory. She wants fellow graduates to consider their role doing the same as they head into the world.

FACULTY AWARDS   Thomas Jefferson Award winner Jeffrey Rosensweig has an ‘attitude of gratitude’ Jeffrey Rosensweig is a renowned scholar and sought-after mentor. A founder of the Center for Ethics, he also enhanced recognition for veterans and co-designed University Courses. Exemplary Teacher Award honors Jennifer Ayres for classroom impact Jennifer Ayres focuses on "the full humanization of everyone in the classroom, setting a standard for pedagogy at Candler School of Theology and across Emory. Cuttino Award winner Rachelle Spell mentors every Emory biology student, new faculty As Rachelle Spell, this year’s winner of the Cuttino Award for Excellence in Mentoring, prepares to retire, she leaves a legacy of one-to-one guidance at Emory College. Emory Williams Awards honor distinguished undergraduate teaching The Emory Williams Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching Award is presented annually as part of Commencement to faculty members in each of Emory’s four undergraduate schools. Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Awards recognize excellence in graduate, professional school faculty The Provost’s Distinguished Teaching Awards recognize outstanding scholars who excel as teachers within formal and informal educational settings.

MORE NEWS   Sarina Adeline McCabe named Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford Emory Woodruff Scholar Sarina Adeline McCabe is a creative writing major with a special interest in medicine. As a Knight-Hennessy Scholar at Stanford, she will continue connecting those fields while pursuing a PhD. Alyssa Panitch chosen as chair of Department of Biomedical Engineering Alyssa Panitch, Edward Teller Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of California, Davis, has been selected as the new chair of the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory University. Auld and Jones honored with Albert E. Levy Award for Excellence in Scientific Research Clinician-scientist Sara Auld and environmental health researcher Dean P. Jones are the 2022 recipients of the Albert E. Levy Award for Excellence in Scientific Research.
