Emory expands financial aid to allow more students to graduate debt-free
Emory University is expanding the Emory Advantage program to replace need-based loans with grants and scholarships in undergraduate financial aid packages.

Emory receives landmark gift in support of students and faculty from Rollins Foundation to advance public health
The O. Wayne Rollins Foundation has committed $100 million to Emory’s Rollins School of Public Health. The transformative gift, the largest in the school’s history, will establish endowed funds for faculty excellence and student success.

RECOGNITION
New approach in quest for cancer vaccines nets chemist a Michelson Prize
Rong Ma received a $150,000 Michelson Prize for her proposal to harness the mechanical processes of cells as a new approach in the long-running quest to develop cancer vaccines. She earned her PhD from Emory in 2021 and is now a postdoctoral fellow.

King Week events highlight relevance of Civil Rights Movement
The Emory University community celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday with a week of virtual events, focused on picking up the torch that King lit for America more than 60 years ago.

2022 Martin Luther King Jr. Community Service Award winners are recognized
Emory’s King Week celebration concluded with the annual MLK Community Awards ceremony. Individuals and organizations were recognized for their work, which epitomizes this year’s theme of breaking down injustice through activism and voting. School of Nursing student Audric Donald was among those recognized.

French-Beninese author and photographer Laeïla Adjovi delves into her artistic and literary practice, discussing topics that permeate her work and research: multilayered identities; fragmented collective memory; the link between the African continent and its diasporas; and the (mis)representation of the African cultural heritage. Adjovi's photographic series, “Malaïka Dotou Sankofa,” is featured in the exhibition “And I Must Scream,” currently on view at the Carlos Museum.
