VIEWPOINTS Georgia primary will be a preview of November election, say Emory experts Emory political experts say that new election realities in the state mean that Georgia's primary on June 9 is in many ways a preview of how November’s presidential election process will unfold. CONNECTIONS Undergraduate researcher explores architecture of Atlanta’s Fox Theatre Ever wonder about the Fox Theatre’s iconic design? Study abroad last summer in Spain and Morocco helped Rizky Etika analyze the architectural influences of the Atlanta landmark, which reflects both Islamic history and the late American industrial age. LITERATURE Emory College AAE hosts virtual book club featuring faculty authors A virtual book club featuring works by Emory College faculty kicks off Thursday, June 4, with Tayari Jones discussing her New York Times bestseller “An American Marriage.” The discussion will begin at 7 p.m. RECOGNITION Students receive Emory Libraries’ undergraduate research awards Four students were recognized by the Robert W. Woodruff Library for undergraduate research they conducted either in the Emory Libraries or at another library in conjunction with their class studies. EDUCATION Human health course explores incarceration, institutionalization “Health behind locked doors” focuses on the physical and mental health concerns of people living in prisons, jails and disability-related institutions. During spring semester, Jennifer Sarrett adapted the course to include COVID-19.
