iNNOVATION Mellon Foundation awards Emory $1.25 million grant for undergraduate humanities education The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation awarded Emory a $1.25 million grant to support the Humanities Pathways initiative, designed to better prepare students to convert their academic pursuits into meaningful professional opportunities in a rapidly changing world. EVENTS Emory's Denim Day supports survivors of sexual assault, violence Emory students, faculty and staff are encouraged to wear denim on Wednesday, April 17, for Denim Day, an annual event intended to show support for ending sexual violence. CAMPUS Emory Community Police Academy offers inside look at EPD's service The Emory Police Department's Community Police Academy recently graduated its third class of participants interested in learning more about EPD and the officers who serve and protect the Emory community. HONORS Emory named a top producer of Fulbright winners, Peace Corps volunteers Emory University is a top producer nationally of students and recent alumni who receive U.S. Fulbright awards and a leading producer of Peace Corps volunteers, according to rankings in The Chronicle of Higher Education. INSIGHT Emory conference explores academic freedom, free speech on campus Planned and hosted by Emory, the groundbreaking "Academic Freedom and Free Speech on Campus" conference brought together leading faculty, staff and student voices from institutions across North America. IMPACT 'Your Fantastic Mind' explores deep brain stimulation, OCD and aneurysms When Jeremy Obata lost the ability to speak, Emory doctors used deep brain stimulation to help. In the latest episode of "Your Fantastic Mind," Emory and Georgia Public Broadcasting explore his case, as well as OCD and brain aneurysms. Watch the episode and view exclusive content. COMMUNITY Emory's inaugural 'Teach-Out' offered to a global audience Led by humanities scholar Pablo Palomino, Emory's first free online "Teach-Out" will explore the meaning of "progress" in Atlanta and beyond. It launches April 15 and is available to participants around the world through the Coursera platform
