INTERNATIONAL Emory students win Fulbright grants for research, teaching around the world Emory University will send a dozen students and recent graduates across the globe in the coming year as part of the 2017 Fulbright U.S. Student Program, the flagship international exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government. HONORS U.S. News ranks Emory University Hospital No. 1, Emory Saint Joseph's No. 2 in Georgia For the sixth year in a row, U.S. News and World Report has ranked Emory University Hospital the No. 1 hospital in Georgia and in metro Atlanta in its 2017-18 Best Hospitals Guide. BUSINESS MBA students learn, grow during West Coast Business Practice Immersion One week, two cities, 13 onsite corporate immersions: For students in Goizueta Business School's Modular MBA for Executives program, the West Coast Business Practice Immersion was a whirlwind of education and networking. MEDICINE Child-friendly app gives young cancer patients a voice Research shows that adults most often report a child's symptoms, but their rating doesn't always reflect the child's experience. Emory's Janice Withycombe and her team designed a survey for the iPad that children with cancer can use so they can have a voice. ACHIEVEMENT Summer undergraduate research at Emory is a SURE thing Across Emory University, 96 undergraduates traded flip-flops for lab coats to spend the summer taking a deep dive into the world of research through a renewed initiative known as SURE. EVENTS Emory hosts journalism panel to kick off Decatur Book Festival NPR's Brooke Gladstone and other reporters and editors will discuss "Journalism in Our Current Environment" as Emory hosts the Sept. 1 keynote for the Decatur Book Festival. Tickets are now available. RESOURCES Candler, Aquinas Center form affiliation to strengthen Catholic academic offerings Candler School of Theology and Aquinas Center of Theology have entered into an affiliate agreement that will strengthen their programming and academic resources, and introduce new opportunities to engage the Catholic community in Atlanta and beyond. IN MEMORIAM Creative writing professor remembered as caring leader, mentor A gifted writer of short stories and essays, Lynna Williams helped shape Emory's Creative Writing Program during its foundational years and leaves a legacy of dedication to students and colleagues. SUSTAINABILITY Green roofs take root at Emory From campus buildings to pedestrian plazas and, now, a vegetable garden atop a university hospital, green roofs are serving Emory's sustainability vision.

Photo Gallery   Business students take on Leader's Reaction Course Battling the summer heat, MBA students in Goizueta Business School recently completed the 14th annual Leader's Reaction Course at Fort Benning. This year featured the largest group to date with 76 individuals making up 14 teams. The day consisted of learning about team work under "simulated stress situations."
