The International Student Leadership and Advocacy Board recently completed its annual International Voices Project, featuring photos and stories from students across Emory who come from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Emory joins amicus brief against President Trump's executive order on immigration
Emory has joined 16 other research universities around the country in filing an amicus brief opposing President Donald Trump's executive order restricting immigration.

 

LITERATURE
Emory Playwriting Fellow incorporates student research in award-winning play
"Too Heavy for Your Pocket," the acclaimed civil rights drama from Emory Playwriting Fellow Jireh Breon Holder, runs at Atlanta's Alliance Theatre through Feb. 26.

INSPIRATION
Former U.S. poet laureate to deliver Commencement address
Former U.S. Poet Laureate Natasha Trethewey will deliver the keynote address at Emory's 172nd Commencement on Monday, May 8, when she will also receive an honorary Doctor of Letters degree. Three additional honorary degrees will be awarded during the ceremony.

Emory's IT Self Service Portal gets major facelift
The upgraded IT Self Service Portal provides an interactive customer experience. Users can easily open tickets to report problems, search for articles to help resolve IT issues, and find items in the request catalog.

 

HEALTH
Zika virus blindfolds immune alarm cells, study shows
Gatekeeper immune cells are fighting Zika virus while facing a significant disadvantage, scientists from the Emory Vaccine Center report, although avenues remain available for immunity-boosting therapies.

CELEBRATION
The inauguration of Claire E. Sterk, Emory's 20th president
Emory marked a new chapter in its history with the inauguration of President Claire E. Sterk. Three days of events culminated with her formal inauguration ceremony on Feb. 8. Take a look back at the week's events.
