Call for University Senate committee participation

Faculty, staff and students interested in participating on Emory University Senate service committees are invited to submit applications for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The University Senate considers and makes recommendations regarding all matters of general University interest, including issues referred to it by the president or board of trustees.

Appointments are available for the following University Senate committees:

·      Advisory Council on Community and Diversity (read more about this new committee here.)

·      Athletics and Recreation

·      Campus Development

·      Campus Life

·      Environment

·      Fringe Benefits

·      Governance

·      Honorary Degree

·      Library Policy

·      Open Expression

·      Prevention of Sexual Violence

·      Transportation and Parking

Committees meet periodically during the academic year and membership is not limited to members of the University Senate, says University Senate President-Elect Kristin Wendland, senior lecturer in the Department of Music and director of undergraduate music studies.

Those interested in serving on a University Senate committee during the 2016-2017 academic year are invited to submit a resume and brief statement of interest to Ryan Larocca, senate assistant, at ryan.larocca@emory.edu by Friday, April 15.

Emory community members now serving on the above committees need not reapply, notes Wendland.
