WHAT:
ACC's CardioSmart program is hosting a free "lunch and learn" event to educate the Atlanta community on cholesterol. Participants will learn about the importance of managing cholesterol including treatment options and medications and have an opportunity to ask questions and connect personally with health care providers.

The event keynote speak will be Laurence S. Sperling, MD, professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. Currently serving as president of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology, Sperling is the medical director of preventive cardiology at Emory Healthcare and serves as medical director for a number of unique programs at Emory. He founded (in 2004) and directs the first and only LDL apheresis program in the state of Georgia.
