Alliance HealthCare Services, Inc., a leading national provider of outpatient diagnostic imaging and radiation therapy services, announced that it has established a new, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging center as part of a partnership with Emory Healthcare. The partnership with Emory Healthcare will allow Alliance Imaging, a division of Alliance HealthCare Services, to further its initiative of growing its portfolio in diagnostic imaging services in partnership with hospitals and healthcare groups.

The partnership between Alliance Imaging and Emory Healthcare began on Oct. 1, 2012 and established a diagnostic imaging facility located in Buford, that will serve the patient and physician populations of Emory University Hospital Midtown and Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Located in Midtown Atlanta, Emory University Hospital Midtown is a 511-bed hospital and is one of the nation's leading community-based, acute care teaching facilities. Emory Johns Creek Hospital is a 110-bed hospital featuring some of the most advanced medical technologies available and serves the community of Johns Creek.

"Our partnership with Alliance will allow Emory to provide a wide array of state-of-the-art imaging capabilities to better serve the metro-Atlanta community," noted Dane C. Peterson, chief executive officer of Emory University Hospital Midtown. "We look forward to forging this new relationship with Alliance, who will provide the management, marketing and support staff to assist our health care staff."

"This opportunity will give patients the option of choosing a facility that is closer to home for their imaging needs, while still offering Emory's top-notch clinical staff to care for them," says Craig McCoy, CEO of Emory Johns Creek Hospital. "It is a win-win situation for all."

The center offers X-ray, ultrasound and MRI, with CT imaging to follow.

"We are pleased to be partnering with a world class organization like Emory Healthcare. This partnership is an excellent example of the value-proposition that Alliance can offer hospitals and healthcare groups," said Larry C. Buckelew, Chairman of the Board and interim Chief Executive Officer of Alliance HealthCare Services.  "Alliance and Emory will both leverage our respective expertise to provide the highest quality options of care to patients in the Johns Creek and greater Atlanta areas. Alliance is committed to successfully becoming a partner of choice to hospitals for a broad array of imaging and oncology services."
