Final comments invited on QEP proposals

Feedback is being sought to help finalize selection of a theme for the University's Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), a proposal to enhance undergraduate education that is required within the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) reaccreditation process.

Town hall meetings were held recently to discuss the four proposed topics:

• World View

• Primary Evidence

• Sustainability

• Engaged Learning.

Emory must select one topic and develop a plan for its implementation to promote "a creative, engaging and meaningful learning experience" for Emory students.

While turnout for the public meetings and discussions was strong, QEP Co-Chairs Sarah McPhee and Rick Rubinson continue to encourage comments from faculty, staff and students, which may be emailed to smcphee@emory.edu or rrubin@emory.edu before Friday, March 23.

Responses will be collected and made available to proposal writers and the QEP Selection Committee, which will narrow the list to two. Those proposals will be sent to the president and provost for final selection.

McPhee and Rubinson expressed their appreciation for those who have contributed to the dialogue, stressing that public opinion remains essential to the process.

For those who could not attend the town hall events, the meetings have been taped and can be viewed, along with the proposals, at: http://bit.ly/er_QEP_proposals.
