Glenn Chancel Choir's spring concert features sacred works, special performers

The Glenn Chancel Choir presents its spring concert Sunday, March 18 at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.

Titled "Of Thy Love, O Lord, I Will Sing," the concert includes works for chorus, soloists, strings, harp, organ and piano.

Mezzo-soprano Magdalena Wór  will perform Lili Boulanger's evocative "Pie Jesu," and tenor Timothy Miller and baritone Stephen Ozcomert will sing Arvo Pärt's haunting "Ein Wallfahrtsleid" from Psalm 121. Featured choral works include "Misericordia Domini" by Mozart and "Psalm 86" by Gustav Holst, with soprano Cynthia Shepherd and tenor Wesley Morgan.

In addition to the Chancel Choir, performers include Emory's Vega Quartet; Elisabeth Remy Johnson who is principal harpist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra; and Emory University Organist Timothy Albrecht. Glenn Music Director Steven Darsey will conduct.

There is no admission charge; an offering will be taken. Free parking is available in the Fishburne deck.
