Southern Company Foundation funds new Center for Civil Rights and Social Justice at Emory Law
Emory has received a transformative grant from Southern Company Foundation to establish the Emory University School of Law Center for Civil Rights and Social Justice and support other student success and access initiatives through Emory College and Winship Cancer Center.

Emory creates Asian Student Center
The new Asian Student Center on Emory’s Atlanta campus provides a place for students to explore their own cultures and backgrounds, become involved with advocacy and activism or simply hang out with friends.

 

ARTS
New Carlos Museum exhibition features the work of two leading Indigenous contemporary artists
“Each/Other,” opening at the Carlos Museum on Sept. 25, is the first exhibition to feature together the work of Indigenous contemporary artists Marie Watt and Cannupa Hanska Luger. Members of the Emory community contributed items for some of the works.

With the kickoff of college football season across the U.S., new research suggests that some college football players may be at risk of developing heart-related complications, based on race, the position they play, their weight and blood pressure.

A ribbon cutting and open house on Sept. 8 marked the reopening of updated identity spaces for several groups on campus, plus a new center for Asian Pacific Islander Desi/American students.
