COVID-19 Community Update: Immunization required for Emory students in fall
Emory will require all students to be immunized for COVID-19 for fall 2021. COVID-19 vaccination for faculty and staff will not be required at this time but is strongly encouraged.

Five Emory professors elected to American Academy of Arts and Sciences
Faculty members Carol Anderson, Sanjay Gupta, Rafi Ahmed, Jericho Brown and Vanessa Siddle Walker have been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious honorary societies.

The recent positive SARS-CoV-2 tests of Asian small-clawed otters at the Georgia Aquarium add to the mystery of why some animals may be more susceptible than others to the virus that causes COVID-19.

Emory Lens: Solar panels on campus
In honor of Earth Day, see how Emory is installing solar panels across its Atlanta campus, which will generate approximately 10 percent of the university's peak energy requirements and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 4,300 metric tons.

Commencement 2021 brings in-person ceremonies that keep safety in mind
Learn more about Emory’s Commencement events, slated for May 14-16 at the Georgia World Congress Center. While some aspects of the university’s traditional ceremony must be adjusted to comply with health and safety protocols, many elements will be familiar.

 

U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff named Emory University 2021 Class Day speaker
U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff has been selected as keynote speaker for Emory's Class Day, a student-organized event for students receiving bachelor's degrees at this year's Commencement. Emory's Class Day will be Thursday, May 13, leading into Commencement weekend.

 

Oxford Commencement features Rollins Dean Curran, Ga. Sen. Warnock
James W. Curran, dean of Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, will deliver the Commencement address for Oxford College on May 15. The ceremony also will feature congratulatory remarks to the graduates from U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock.
