SUPPORT Emory rises in rankings of federal research funding Emory University received more federal research dollars from the National Institutes of Health than ever before and continued to climb in an independent ranking of peer institutions. INVOLVEMENT Dowe named to Kamala Harris Project’s advisory board Pearl Dowe, Asa Griggs Candler Professor of African American Studies and Political Science, has been selected as a member of the inaugural advisory board of the Kamala Harris Project. PARTNERSHIP Emory Healthcare, Atlanta Falcons open new sports medicine clinic, research center Emory Healthcare and the Atlanta Falcons held a ribbon cutting today, officially opening the doors to a new musculoskeletal and sports medicine clinic, located at the IBM Performance Fields, home of the Atlanta Falcons. CONNECTIONS The Roberto C. Goizueta Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation launches to global community A new center led by Goizueta Business School will help develop students into the entrepreneurs and innovators of tomorrow. The work was funded by a gift from The Goizueta Foundation and includes partners such as The Hatchery (shown), an Emory Center for Innovation. RECOGNITION Emory Healthcare and Emory hospitals win statewide patient safety awards The Georgia Hospital Association Partnership for Health and Accountability presented eight of its prestigious Patient Safety and Quality Awards to Emory Healthcare and three Emory Healthcare hospitals: Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital and Emory University Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital. PERSPECTIVES Watch Monday's Faculty Showcase featuring conversations between Jericho Brown and new faculty across campus In this interactive event, Pulitzer Prize-winning professor Jericho Brown read and discussed nine of his poems with new faculty members from each of Emory’s schools and colleges. Replay their conversations, which ranged from sharing childhood stories to living during a pandemic.
