The search advisory committee is chaired by President Gregory L. Fenves and includes faculty members, students, deans and a trustee. COMMUNITY Scott Lilienfeld remembered for advancing psychology while embodying kindness Scott Lilienfeld, Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Psychology at Emory, passed away Sept. 30. He was widely recognized as the foremost authority on pseudoscience in psychology, as well as a preeminent scholar of psychopathy. FOREFRONT EJCH first in Georgia to offer patients access to new mobile PET/CT scanner Emory Johns Creek Hospital is offering patients a scanner delivering faster scan times and reduced radiation doses. RESEARCH Emory Fragile X Center: $8 million NIH grant supports next-generation neuroscience Supported by a five-year, $8 million grant, an Emory-led team of scientists plans to investigate new therapeutic approaches to fragile X syndrome, the most common inherited intellectual disability and a major single-gene cause of autism.

'YOUR FANTASTIC MIND'   Battling depression: Episode 5 of the “Your Fantastic Mind” television series followed Tyler Hajjar, who suffered debilitating depression for a decade. Watch to shadow him during a 12-hour surgery and in the months that follow as he strives to reclaim his life after deep brain stimulation.
