RESEARCH
Emory among U.S. sites hosting new clinical trial for COVID-19 treatment
Emory will participate in an NIH-sponsored global clinical trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of novel therapeutic agents in hospitalized adult patients diagnosed with COVID-19. The drug remdesivir is the first agent to be evaluated.

Emory Healthcare to postpone elective surgeries and procedures
After significant review and consideration, Emory Healthcare will postpone all inpatient and outpatient elective surgical and procedural cases effective Monday, March 16, for two weeks, followed by week-to-week assessment.

Winship multiple myeloma team awarded $5 million grant
Winship and researchers from Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center have received a five-year, $5 million grant from The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society to improve adoptive cell therapies and develop the next generation of promising myeloma treatments for patients.
