MILESTONE
It's official: Emory recognized as largest employer in metro Atlanta
Emory University isn't only ranked as a great place to work on multiple local and national lists. Now, for the first time ever, Emory is the largest employer in metro Atlanta, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Under President Claire E. Sterk's leadership, Emory has more than 31,000 full-time employees in the metro area and 37,716 in total.

Routine blood test could lead to earlier diabetes diagnosis
The results of random plasma glucose tests could help physicians identify individuals at high risk for type 2 diabetes earlier than is normally done, according to Emory research published this week in the journal PLOS ONE.

NUTRITION
Study highlights need for real-time energy balance
The type and quantity of food you eat isn't all that matters to your body: when you eat can also help strike the best balance between energy consumed and energy burned during exercise, according to researchers with Emory's Center for the Study of Human Health and Rollins School of Public Health.
