IMPACT Poet and Emory professor Jericho Brown creates new poetic form for 'The Tradition' Inspired by Emory creative writing students, professor Jericho Brown created a new form of poetry for his acclaimed collection, "The Tradition." TEACHING 'Nutrition for the Performing Arts' course focuses on science behind peak performance Part of Emory's Center for the Study of Human Health, Dan Benardot's class dispels common nutrition myths and helps students learn why nutrition matters to everyone, not just athletes. HEALTH Despite increase in insurance coverage for depression, growth in spending remains modest A new investigation published in JAMA Psychiatry finds that while insurance coverage for depression has increased, treatment rates are lower than expected, indicating that non-financial barriers to patient care still remain. FACULTY Two new basic science chairs reflect One Emory focus on collaborative research Two new chairs in the basic sciences in Emory School of Medicine are the result of an effort to promote and support collaborative research among fundamental scientists across the university through the One Emory framework. COMMUNITY Get to know Emory's therapy dogs Meet Finn and Beowulf, Emory's certified therapy dogs. Emory is among an early wave of universities to utilize animal-assisted therapy, bringing fluffy fun to campus events and a calming presence to counseling sessions.
