Emory appoints Deborah W. Bruner as senior vice president for research
Emory University President Claire E. Sterk has announced the appointment of internationally renowned researcher and clinical trials expert Deborah Watkins Bruner as the university's senior vice president for research, effective Oct. 1.

Engineers decode conversations in brain's motor cortex
Biomedical engineers are developing methods for decoding communications between the brain and the body's biological networks by analyzing electrical patterns in the motor control areas of the brain.

'Musical genius' Max Richter opens new season of Candler Concert Series
Max Richter, hailed as a "modern-day musical genius" by the New York Times, kicks off the 2018-2019 Candler Concert Series on Friday, Sept. 28, performing with the American Contemporary Music Ensemble.

Mathematics and computer science grow by becoming separate departments
The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in Emory College recently held a ribbon-cutting to celebrate separating into two stand-alone departments. The change will allow both new departments to grow and build on their core strengths.
