COMMUNITY Emory Healthcare and DeKalb Medical celebrate new partnership Emory Healthcare welcomed DeKalb Medical to the family with partnership celebrations held Sept. 14 for employees, local leaders and government officials at each of the three DeKalb Medical locations, along with unveilings of new hospital signs at each facility. HONORS Emory professors selected for 2018 National Book Awards longlists Out of hundreds of nominations for the prestigious National Book Awards, Carol Anderson's "One Person, No Vote" was chosen among the top 10 for nonfiction and Tayari Jones' "An American Marriage" made the top 10 for fiction. CAMPUS Jennifer Gunter King named new director of Emory's Rose Library Jennifer Gunter King will serve as the new director of Emory's world-renowned Stuart A. Rose Manuscript, Archives and Rare Book Library, starting Oct. 15. COLLABORATION Emory receives $29 million from Wounded Warrior Project During pregame events for last night's Atlanta Braves game, the Wounded Warrior Project presented a $29.2 million grant to the Emory Healthcare Veterans Program to further its work providing transformative care for veterans facing post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, depression and anxiety.
