SPECIAL FEATURE
AIDS in Atlanta
The city that is home to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one of the largest clinics for HIV/AIDS patient care in the country and top-funded HIV research programs is also an epicenter of the HIV epidemic in the U.S. As we observe National HIV Testing Day tomorrow, how are researchers trying to turn the tide?

LEADERSHIP
Sterk discusses the impact of technology in higher education
Half of today's jobs may not exist in 20 years, so Emory must prepare students to succeed by emphasizing skills such as learning how to learn, flexibility and empathy, President Claire E. Sterk explains in a new video.

CAMPUS
Holbrook to serve as vice provost for faculty affairs
A desire to help scholars achieve their academic and career goals leads Emory law professor Tim Holbrook to a new role, where he will focus on supporting, uniting and diversifying faculty.

GLOBAL
Wescoat to lead international seminars exploring ancient architecture
A $246,000 Getty Foundation grant, "Beyond the Northern Aegean," led by Emory, will facilitate scholar-student research travel to study how ancient Greek architectural ideas were adopted and adapted in the wider Mediterranean world.

HEALTH
Study update: Aircraft microbiome much like that of homes and offices
According to a new study by researchers at Emory, Georgia Tech and the J. Craig Venter Institute, bacterial communities accompanying airline passengers at 30,000 feet have much in common with the bacterial communities surrounding people in their homes and offices.

SUSTAINABILITY
Student move-out donations divert waste from landfill, aid local nonprofit
As students moved out of residence halls, the "Don't Dump It, Donate It" program made it easy to donate unwanted items. This year's program diverted 184 tons from landfills and raised more than $3,000 to benefit Global Growers.
