Author Colm Tóibín to examine fathers of famed writers at Ellmann Lectures
Acclaimed Irish author Colm Tóibín brings his experiences and insights to Emory Nov. 12-14 to deliver the Richard Ellmann Lectures in Modern Literature, where he'll address the theme of "Writers and Their Fathers: Wilde, Yeats and Joyce."

Emory is among 19 universities that filed an amicus brief Nov. 1 in support of students attending college while participating in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival program.

 

RESEARCH
Space station will host stem cells for heart research
Emory/CHOA researchers will examine whether microgravity can enhance the ability of induced pluripotent stem cells to turn into cardiac muscle cells, with help from the International Space Station.

 

HONORS
Jaeger wins Einstein Fellowship for innovative study of brain circuit function
Emory neuroscientist Dieter Jaeger has won a three-year fellowship from the Einstein Foundation in Berlin to help with his work to understand the cortical dysfunction that results in Parkinson's disease.
