Malawi excavation yields oldest-known human DNA from Africa
Emory anthropologist Jessica Thompson's work in Malawi is part of a major new paper in the journal Cell, filling in thousands of years of human prehistory of hunter-gatherers in Africa.

RISE receives $6.8M to research reproductive health in Southeast
The newly established Center for Reproductive Health Research in the Southeast (RISE), at the Emory University Rollins School of Public Health, has received $6.8 million in funding for the next three years from a large, private, anonymous foundation.

Episcopal Presiding Bishop Michael Curry to speak at Emory
Candler School of Theology's Episcopal Studies program will host the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry, 27th presiding bishop and primate of the Episcopal Church, for a public lecture on "Racial Realities and the Beloved Community" on Oct. 11.

Emory exhibition celebrates America's Beat Generation
An exhibition of rare materials celebrating the contributions of the Beat Generation of writers, poets and artists opens Sept. 28 at Woodruff Library, curated by English PhD candidates Sarah Harsh and Aaron Goldsman.
