Polly Price, professor of law and global health at Emory, is one of 35 recipients of the prestigious 2017 Andrew Carnegie fellowship, which funds significant research and writing in the social sciences and humanities.

Researchers from Emory's Rollins School of Public Health and the CDC report estimates of hepatitis C virus infection in every U.S. state for persons over 18 years old, based on a newly developed statistical model that integrated several publicly available data sources.

Better pollen barcoding breaks down barriers to plant identification
Analysis of pollen is poised to play an increasing role in solving modern-day mysteries, aided by gene-sequence libraries and advances in DNA barcoding, or the use of DNA to identify species.

Human health student fights back against bacteria with research
Working from a similar breakthrough by his thesis adviser, ethnobotanist Cassandra Quave, Emory senior Matt Mendelsohn discovered two root extracts help conquer staph's defense system.
