Dooley’s Week tradition shifts to online activities for 2020
Emory's campuses are quiet, but it’s still Dooley's Week! The Student Programming Council revamped its plans for festivities to accommodate the remote learning currently in effect. Activities include daily social media challenges, Google Hangouts and a Netflix Party on Friday.

Staff at Oxford College came together to help students who can’t return home for remote learning transition to living on Emory’s Atlanta campus.

As they finish their senior year sheltering at home, 5,925 high school students learned last week that they are the final students admitted to Emory's Class of 2024. Leaders inside and outside the classroom, they are among the most academically talented students in the world.

Emory joins NIH-sponsored coronavirus vaccine study
Emory’s Vaccine and Treatment Evaluation Unit is participating in a clinical trial testing a vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19, the first such vaccine to be tested in the U.S. Learn more and hear from trial participants about why they are volunteering for the study.

Emory Healthcare, Georgia Tech team up on rapid production of face shields
With supplies of medical personal protective equipment strained amid the COVID-19 outbreak, a cross-disciplinary team at Emory Healthcare and the Georgia Institute of Technology is working on a new effort to supply thousands of face shields to health care professionals on front lines.

Hawks and State Farm support Atlanta’s health care heroes
The Hawks Foundation and State Farm are providing support to deliver meals to workers treating COVID-19 patients at Emory Healthcare. The multi-week program also will bolster Atlanta's restaurant community.

 

RESPONSE
Reusable respirators a potential alternative for protecting health care workers from COVID-19
The shortage of disposable N95 respirator masks is a serious concern for front line health care workers. A study by Emory physician Colleen Kraft finds that a reusable alternative to the N95 mask is just as effective.
