Be on the lookout for Dooley, Emory's unofficial mascot, as Dooley's Week takes over campus April 9-14 with a full slate of music-themed "Dooleypalooza" activities.

Emory team wins international global health competition
Emory recently hosted the International Emory Global Health Case Competition, drawing two dozen teams from leading universities around the world. A team of Emory graduate students took first place for the first time since 2012.

Historian Taylor Branch to discuss Martin Luther King Jr., James Weldon Johnson
Taylor Branch, acclaimed for his narrative histories of America during the King years, visits Emory on Thursday, April 5, to deliver the annual James Weldon Johnson Distinguished Lecture.

RespectCon 2018 focuses on sexual violence prevention, social justice
Student activist Venkayla Haynes will be the keynote for this year's RespectCon, a national conference hosted by Emory focused on social justice and sexual assault prevention on college campuses.

Emory University undergraduate applications reach new record high
Emory University has received a record 27,982 applications to be part of the Class of 2022, a 16 percent jump from the previous year. Learn more about the students who applied and were accepted this year.

Class looks at fake archaeological stories to understand modern thinking
In "Archaeology: Modern Myths, Pseudo-Science and the Study of the Past," classics professor Sandra Blakely's students learn analytical skills that can help them evaluate not only archaeological theories, but also today's "fake news."

Dance performance reimagines legendary Trisha Brown choreography
The world-renowned Trisha Brown Dance Company presents "In Plain Site," a site-specific work performed at various locations across Emory's campus. Performances are April 7-8.

President of Tibetan government-in-exile to deliver Berman Lecture
Sikyong Lobsang Sangay, president of the Tibetan government-in-exile, will deliver the 2018 Berman Lecture at 7 p.m. Monday, April 9 at Emory University School of Law. He will speak on "The Tibetan People's Transition to Secular Democracy."

Remembering MLK: This evening, clock towers on Emory's Atlanta and Oxford campuses will chime 39 times at 7:05 p.m. to mark the 50th anniversary of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. King was 39 years old when he was murdered in Memphis, Tennessee, on April 4, 1968.
