Two years after being treated at Emory University Hospital for Ebola virus disease, Nancy Writebol returns to Emory to reflect on what she experienced and offer inspiration to future nurses.

Memorial service honors students killed in terrorist attack
The Oxford College community gathered Sunday to remember Abinta Kabir and Faraaz Hossain, who were killed in July in Bangladesh. "Let us cross borders with the courage they showed in their lives," President-elect Claire Sterk urged.

Candler to host lecture series on faith and politics
As the country counts down to the presidential election, Emory's Candler School of Theology will host public intellectuals and scholars of religion and culture for a lecture series titled "Faith and Politics in the 21st Century."

Decatur Book Festival puts Emory in the spotlight
The Decatur Book Festival kicks off Friday at Emory with a sold-out tribute to Southern literary icon Pat Conroy. A diverse slate of Emory authors will offer readings and presentations throughout the weekend.

Emory students earn Fulbright awards to research, study and teach abroad
Emory will send 13 students and recent graduates across the globe in the coming year as part of the 2016 Fulbright U.S. Student Program. Recipients are selected based on leadership potential and academic achievement.

 

PUBLIC HEALTH
Couples HIV testing, counseling prevents more than 70 percent of new infections in Rwanda
A 30-year HIV prevention and research initiative in Rwanda has resulted in the prevention of more than 70 percent of new HIV infections in that country. The program includes the Rwanda Ministry of Health, Emory and the CDC.

EVENTS
Emory Arts kicks off with superheroes, storytelling and Shakespeare
The new semester brings a full schedule of arts events to campus. September's highlights range from superhero films to a musical reimagining of Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors."
