Seminar on Ebola offers continuing medical education credit

An educational seminar on Ebola virus disease will be held Thursday, March 19, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second floor auditorium of Emory University Hospital.

Guest speakers will be Bruce Ribner, medical director of Emory University Hospital’s Serious Communicable Disease Unit and infectious disease professor in the School of Medicine, on “lessons learned in treating Ebola patients in the U.S.” and Sharon Vanairsdale, adjunct instructor and nurse in the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, on “treating Ebola patients at Emory.” Karly Taylor, conflict-of-interest specialist, will also speak.

The seminar is hosted by Emory’s Office for Clinical Research (OCR) under its Research Matters events. Attendees are eligible to receive up to 1.5 hours of continuing medical education (CME) hours through the Emory University School of Medicine Office of Continuing Education.

The registration deadline is March 16. Emory employees can register online. Those who are not Emory employees should send an email request to register to OCR@emory.edu with name, department and affiliation. Lunch is provided at the event; registration is not required for attendance, but is needed for those who plan to dine.
